Premier's revamped Web site to open Monday
Yomiuri Shimbun
The Prime Minister's Office will launch a revamped Web site Monday, making it more user friendly and adding new sections that include information on crisis management and the Self-Defense Forces' activities in Iraq.
The main improvement of the Web site, www.kantei.go.jp, is that the function by which the public can share opinions with the prime minister will be made easier to use.
In case of an earthquake, or other disasters, users can access up-to-the-minute information on injuries and damage compiled by the Prime Minister's Office's crisis management center.
A collection of statements by Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi regarding the reconstruction of Iraq also will be available, with the aim of explaining to the public why the government is dispatching SDF personnel to Iraq.
The prime minister's Web site also will include updates on SDF activities in Iraq and neighboring countries. _________________ Michael_Voyageur
